SUMMARY

The Lean Six Sigma Black Belt Quality Engineer is responsible for creating/delivering Six Sigma training and mentoring lower-level belts throughout PTI Technologies Inc. This person will also lead complex improvement projects to improve the overall health of our business management system.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop, conduct, & maintain training for Yellow Belts and Green Belts
  • Performs capability and other statistical assessments
  • Mentor, coach, & provide oversight to Green Belts, Yellow Belts, & other team members for all Six Sigma projects
  • Leads meetings reporting the status of all projects to Senior Management
  • Promote the use of Lean Six Sigma methodology and tools
  • Work with various departments to provide project leadership as it pertains to cost savings, efficiency improvement, and/or quality improvement, for both operational and transactional processes utilizing the DMAIC process
  • Collaborate with process owners on data analysis and interpretation to achieve identification, selection, and prioritization of improvement projects

 


 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Six Sigma Black Belt or Master Black Belt (preferred) certification by a reputable academy company with practical manufacturing application
  • Solid background in quality, manufacturing, continuous improvement, and/or Lean Six Sigma
  • Familiar with the use of statistical software (MINITAB preferred) as well as SPC methods
  • Must have solid Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint skill sets
  • Highly energetic & self-driven, motivated to succeed
  • Strong time and project management skills

 

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Required: B.S. degree in Engineering or a related technical field

 

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret contracts, general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, and governmental regulations. Ability to write reports and business correspondence. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of peers, managers, clients, and customers.

 

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

 

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form, and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

 

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Strong organization skills and ability to prioritize workload
