Oxnard, California – 21 April 2021 – PTI Technologies is pleased to announce the delivery of the first Aerial Refueling Receptacle (ARR) to Korea Aerospace Industries (KAI) for the KF-X fighter aircraft. The KAI KF-X is a joint South Korean and Indonesian 4.5-generation fighter aircraft development program with the goal of producing an advanced multirole fighter for the South Korean and Indonesian air forces.
“Having only acquired this program, as well as the underlying legacy technology in 2019, I am proud of what the PTI team has accomplished,” said Rowland Ellis, President of PTI Technologies. “While this ARR design leveraged our existing Boeing F-15 product, we had to accommodate all new installation interfaces and operational loads for the KF-X aircraft. This significantly challenged the schedule but the program team was able to meet this challenge to design and deliver this first unit for KAI.”
“We are pleased to have the opportunity to partner with KAI for the development of this new aerial refueling design for the KF-X aircraft providing enhanced operational capability for the aircraft. We are looking forward to a long working relationship with KAI in support of the KF-X and other future aircraft programs,” continued Ellis.
Initial ARR Unit Status:
- Installation on A/C#1 completed
- Functional test on arrangement level completed
