History

PTI Technologies Inc. is a world leader in the design, development, manufacture, marketing and distribution of high technology filter elements, modules, and filtration and fluid flow equipment. We are a wholly-owned subsidiary of the ESCO Technologies Corporation.
Founded in 1924 as Motor Improvements, Inc., PTI pioneered the practical application of filtration technology for a wide range of applications. In 1926, the company introduced the first disposable oil filter for use in automobiles. During W.W.II, as "Purolator", we were the primary vehicle oil filter supplier to the U.S. Government. In the late 1950's, we established ourselves as the leading hydraulic filtration supplier to the aerospace industry by developing innovative dedicated systems and components. In 1984 PTI was acquired by HR Textron making PTI the second largest aerospace filtration provider. Acquired in 1992, PTI is a subsidiary of ESCO Technologies Inc. (NYSE: ESE), headquartered in St. Louis, Missouri.
Today, our products are essential components of filtration processes in virtually every major industry including aerospace, chemical process, pharmaceutical, petrochemical, microelectronics, agriculture, and many more.
